Work It Girl!
Ugh. I don't wanna get dressed. Ever have one of those days when you are trying to figure out what to where to work? Or when your carefully planned outfits the night before didn't end up the way you imagined it in your head? Like...HELL NO that looks AWFUL. Welp, that's when you go for your basics and your neutrals like your skinny black pants, tunic tops, leggings etc.
However, when dressing professionally for corporate, the easiest way too spruce up a "I don't feel like wearing anything today" outfit, are earrings. Hands down, my favorite kind of accessory. And hands down this season my favorite are TASSEL EARRINGS! So fun and you can dress up any outfit that's dressy, casual, basic and professional. But my favorite thing is that dangling, tassel earrings can dress up any drab all black outfit.
SO FUN TO SWING LEFT, THEN SWING RIGHT, THEN SWING LEFT
Best way to feature those drop dead gorgeous earrings is to get that hair out of the face or off to one side. What's the point of wearing fabulous earrings if your hair is hiding it? So opt for a ponytail or a high bun bun. Any in my case Mama Choy (a.ka. my mother) always tells me in her Chinese/British accent "Aiyah.....pull the hair up so it pulls your face tight, NATURAL anti wrinkle technique and helps pull the skin away from the double chin." Um, okay thanks mom, but yeah, it kinda makes sense. I got mine from Francesca's , but there are plenty of options everywhere!
One key thing with jewelry I find very important for the busy career woman is that obviously you don't have a lot of time. So you need to be efficient and be able to plan quickly or get ready fast. It took me a few years, but truly the best way to #1 FIND the perfect jewelry to match your jewelry is you really need to have it all visibly out. If you collect lot of costume jewelry like me, its easy to have them buried in a stash, in a box, in a drawer and get lost and forgotten. The picture to the right is my actual jewelry cabinet I got this past year from the hubby. I have to say I LOVE IT. And this hangs on a door, so for me, it hangs on the inside of my closet door.
In theory, all those Pinterest boards on how to best display your jewelry on chicken wire frames, or on tree jewelry branchy things...none of that worked for me. Trust me, I've tried. I ended up wearing the same 5 earrings every week. I actually resorted to a nail bin organizer from the home improvement store, but I never could find anything. Out of sight, out of mind!
Plus having everything out, just felt cluttered and drove me a little batty. So this way, it's all out and visible, BUT it hangs on the inside of my closet door, and when I'm done, I close it and it is nice and tidy.
